Opportunities to Grow, Serve & Share

North Highland United Methodist Church, in conjunction with the leaders of Spirit Lake Ministry, is once again inviting us to participate in the Shoebox Christmas Project. Shoeboxes and donations need to be delivered to North Highland by November 21st. Please have the shoeboxes to the church by Sunday, November 18th so they can be delivered on time to Aberdeen. Thank you in advance for your generosity and your willingness to reach out to those in need.

Benefit Dinner AND Silent Auction for the Steve Glover Family on Sunday, October 28th, 2012 at the Hecla Community Center from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The silent auction will close at 1:30 p.m.  Donations for the silent auction can be left at the Britton-Hecla Elementary office or Frohling Meats in Hecla.  An account has been set up at any First Savings Banks of SD for donations.   Steve had been fighting a chronic lung disease and was awaiting a lung transplant in Rochester.  He passed away Sunday, October 15.

Our annual Charge Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, November 14th. Britton United Methodist Church will be the hosting church this year. A meal will be served beginning at 6pm. The meeting will follow at 7pm. Everyone is invited (Britton, Claremont & Hecla folks) to attend and be a part of the planning of the church for the next year.

Reports for Charge Conference
To the chairs of Finance, Trustees, Christian Education, UMW and the Lay Servant Leader: annual reports for the Charge Conference are due in the church office by Monday, November 12th. They may be emailed to the church at claremontumc@nvc.net or to Pastor Nancy at nancyserving@gmail.com or left on Pastor’s desk.

Britton United Methodist Church will be having a Congregational meeting on Sunday, October 28th at 3pm. The topics of discussion are related to repairs needed on the parsonage and the church. Please be sure to join us for this important meeting and help the Trustees and Administrative Council make decisions regarding the needs. Your thoughts and suggestions are valued and needed. Coffee and dessert will be served after the meeting.

Hecla United Methodist Church will be having their annual Fall Turkey Supper on Sunday, November 4th from 5-7pm at the Hecla Community Center. Mark your calendars and come and enjoy good food and fellowship.
