Opportunities to Grow in Faith
The BCH Youth Group will meet on February 8th at 6:30pm at Hecla UMC. Plans will be finalized for the ski trip, February 17-20th, at this meeting.
The second session of Leadership training will be on Saturday, February 4th from 9am-1pm at Claremont UMC. The training is from the Leadership Institute that Pastor attended in September 2011. All are invited to attend and grow in Christian leadership skills so that God will be glorified in our communities of faith. Please let Pastor know if you will be attending so the appropriate amount of food will be available.
Marshall County Ministerial is sponsoring a one day retreat entitled “Walking Through the Old Testament” on Saturday, March 3rd at FirstLutheranChurch in Britton, SD. This retreat is for ages kindergarten through fifth grade and for those in sixth grade and adults. This is an interactive study and is fun and will help you grow in your knowledge of the Old Testament. You will be mightily blessed by this retreat. Registration forms are now available for the event on the tables in the entryway. You may also contact Marcia Haaland or Carol Bush for additional information. Childcare will be available at First Presbyterian Church that day. Scholarships are available to cover the cost of the retreat. 6th grade through adult $20, Kindergarten through 5th grade $15.
Lent is just around the corner. Ash Wednesday is on February 22nd. We will be having Lenten services each Wednesday through the season of Lent at 7PM. The services will rotate between the churches and will be preceded by a light meal at 6:30pm for those who are able to make it and also coffee fellowship following the service.

The Marshall County Cancer Support Group will meet on Sunday, January 22nd at 7pm at the First Presbyterian Church. Pastor Terrill Sorenson from First Lutheran will speak to the group.

Feb. 11-- Debi Nixon, one of the executive directors at Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas will be at The Faulkton United Church on Saturday, February 11, 2012. She will present a one-day workshop based on her book, Catch: Attracting and Connecting Visitors. If you have questions contact Bill Hoffman at revwilly3@gmail.com. Registration forms are also available in the entryway of each church. Pastor Nancy will be attending and invites others to join in this interesting topic. The cost is $20 and includes the cost of snacks and lunch.
