Thoughts to Ponder
“The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith, and the beginning of true faith is the end of anxiety.”                                George Mueller

Claremont: Lenten services begin on March 9th. Once again we will be having a light supper after the service. Volunteers are needed for each Wednesday of Lent.  A sign up sheet is available on the entry table in the narthex. Thank you in advance for volunteering for this ministry of fellowship.

The Youth Group of Hecla UMC & St. John’s Lutheran will be hosting a Baked Potato Supper on Sunday, March 13th. All proceeds will go to help fund the mission trips that are planned for this summer. Additional information will be available in next Sunday’s announcements.

So often we forget to thank those in our community of faith who do the behind the scenes work. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their participation in the ministries of our churches. Everything you do is appreciated, no matter how small the task may seem. We are all part of the body of Christ and each person is a valuable part. Each one of us is important to the whole. Thank you for the part you play in keeping our communities of faith going.

Hecla: Plans are in the process for painting the outside of the church. Donations are being requested to help pay for the paint and supplies that will be needed for the project. Please prayerfully consider how you can help with this project. Dates and times will be posted once they are determined. Your volunteer help will be needed to complete the project also.

There are several opportunities to grow in your faith through Bible Study. In Hecla there is a Sunday morning study at , a Tuesday evening study on moderation and a monthly couple’s group on the 3rd Sunday evening of the month. In Claremont there is a Bible Study on Thursday morning at , a Evening Circle Study on the second Wednesday of the month and a monthly book study held on the first Thursday of the month.
You are invited to participate in this time of study and fellowship.

Nominations Form:  Make a Difference with your gifts and talents

Thoughts to Ponder
“When you say what God says (confession), you begin to think what God thinks (repentance). So let this [Scripture] be your confession of faith. And let it be the foundation on which you build your new life. This is not the power of positive thinking. It’s not your good thoughts that will turn your life around. God’s power will turn your life around. He’s just asking you to believe he is who he says he is, believe you are who he says you are, and then live like you believe those things. Does that mean bad things will stop happening? No. But it does mean you will experience many more victories than losses because the Word of God is at work in you.”                                            Rev. Buddy Owens, Saddleback Church

Thoughts to Ponder
We like to think that worry works for us. It reminds us what needs to get done or it motivates us to get to the next step. But the truth of the matter is this: worry works on us; it doesn’t work for us. It will steal life and create relational difficulties. Until we get something that works better than worry, we are going to keep worrying.                     Rev. Tom Holladay, Saddleback Church
“Don’t worry about anything …” Philippians 4:6a (LB)
