Opportunities to Grow in Faith

The worship schedule for Holy Week services is as follows:
Maundy (Holy) Thursday,
April 5th at Claremont UMC  
Good Friday Service,
          April 6th at Britton UMC

Hecla UMC will be having Easter worship at on April 8th followed by a breakfast. UMW will be furnishing the meal and an offering will be received to cover the cost. Plan on attending this time of worship and fellowship and celebrate Christ’s resurrection with great Joy.

A signup sheet is in the entryway and/or on the bulletin board to sign up to bring lilies, tulips, daffodils and/or other spring flowers in memory of someone on Easter Sunday. Please list your name and the person(s) that they are in memory or honor of. The list will be included in the worship folder on Easter.

On Saturday, April 28th the youth and adults of Britton, Claremont & Hecla are invited to participate in packaging food for starving children around the world at “Kids Against Hunger” in Aberdeen. The time has not been set yet, but it will be about 2 hours in length. Set aside this time on your schedule and be part of this mission event. I pray that we will be able to go “en mass” and be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who will receive the food. Look for more details in the April newsletter and upcoming worship folders.

On Sunday, April 29th a joint worship service is being planned. It will be held at Britton UMC and the service will be followed by a potluck meal. Beverages & plates will be provided by the host church. The worship team would also like to invite volunteers to join together from the three churches to present special music during worship. Please let Pastor Nancy or members of the worship team know if you would like to participate (Pam Moeckly, Vicki Renner, Vergie Wallace, Bev Dinger, Stephanie Frohling, Kathy Heinrich, Yvonne Gibbs, Carol Hanse, Geri Rasmussen & Judy Pierson).

Lenten services will continue each Wednesday through the season of Lent at . The services will rotate between the churches and will be preceded by a light meal.  On March 28st  the service will be at Hecla UMC.  All are invited and encouraged to participate each week at the host church.

Britton UMW invites you to a Spring Brunch, on Saturday, March 24 at . The guest speaker will be Holly Hoffman, from Eureka, SD, who was a contestant on the TV program “Survivor”. Her message will be inspiring and exciting. There is no cost for the brunch. You are invited to come and be inspired. Please call Pam Moeckly if you plan on attending at 448-2213 or email her at cmoeckly@venturecomm.net

**The Beth Moore Bible Study will began at Britton UMC on Tuesday, March 13th and March 14th at . The study will be on James and is a 8 week study. It’s not too late to join the study group. Come and learn more about God’s mercies.
**The study also began at Claremont UMC on Thursday, March 15st. It’s not to late to join in. We will meet every Thursday at .  
 
Kelly Bushby has been on our prayer list since December and she continues to have ongoing treatments. At this point her husband is returning to work and she will be starting radiation treatments in Aberdeen. Volunteers are being requested to drive her to and from the appointments in Aberdeen. Please contact Terri Traxinger (294-5812) or Randy Bushby (994-2801) if you are available to assist them.

Sign up sheets are posted in the entry way of CUMC and BUMC and on the counter of fellowship hall at HUMC for serving a light meal for the Lenten services. Claremont will host March 14th, Britton on March 21st and Hecla on Mar. 28th. The meal will be served at and worship will be at . There will also be a time of coffee fellowship after the service.
