Opportunities to Grow, Serve & Share
Our new Bishop, Rev. Bruce Ough, will be in our district (Eastern Sunrise) on Sunday, October 7th at Fargo First UMC at 3:30pm. There will be a time of worship and of fellowship.

The Bible Study “Embraced by God” will be held at BUMC on Wednesdays at 9:30am and at CUMC on Thursday’s at 9:30am. Come and be a part of this wonderful study about God’s love.

First United Methodist Church of Aberdeen will be hosting a 2 day video presentation of “Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage” on Friday, October 12th from 7-10pm and Saturday, October 13th from 9am-12:30pm. The cost is $18 for a single and $35 for a couple. Tickets are available online at www.laughyourway.com and look for the events tab or call 866.525-2844.

Pastor Nancy will be attending the Leadership Institute Conference at UM Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Ks from Tuesday, October 2nd through October 6th. If pastoral needs arise, please call her cell phone (294-7388).

The Marshall County Food Pantry will be having their annual coat give away the end of October. They are seeking donations of coats, new or gently used and snow pants. Please bring your donations to the church by October 18th.

UMW Prayer vigil is October 1; Claremont’s time is 2:00-2:45pm.  Please pray for an end to domestic violence.

On Sunday, September 30th we will be having a joint (Britton-Claremont-Hecla) worship service at Claremont UMC at 10:00am. All Sunday schools are invited to join the Claremont youth and children at 9am for classes and to practice a song to sing during worship. Please note the time of the worship service and mark your calendars. We will have a time of fellowship and food with a potluck meal following the service.

The annual Ingathering has a new name and location. This year it is called Dakotas Market Place and will be held on September 22, 2012 at First UMC in Sioux Falls, SD. The format remains the same with auctions, gathering of kits for UMCOR, and lunch. Pastor Nancy will be going and will take any kits along. Please have the kits to the church no later than September 19th.

Opportunities to Grow, Serve & Share
The annual “Ingathering” has a new name and location. This year it will be called the Dakota Market Place and will be held at the First UMC of Sioux Falls. The format will remain similar with the addition of some things. Kits are once again being requested (school, health, sewing, fry bread, bedding, layette, birthing and shoe boxes). The date is Saturday, September 22nd. First UMC will be accepting the kits during the day from September 17th through the 22nd. Pastor Nancy is planning on attending so will be taking the kits to Sioux Falls. Please have all kits to the churches by September 19th or before.  

Beginning September 1st the Dakotas Conference and the Minnesota Conference will share a bishop. Bishop Bruce Ough will be the new bishop. Bishop Kiesey has been appointed to the Michigan Conference. There will be opportunities scheduled to meet Bishop Ough in late 
September across the Dakotas. Our District, Eastern Sunrise, will gather at Fargo First on Sunday, October 7th at 3pm.

Confirmation classes begin on Wednesday, September 11th at 6:30pm until 8pm. The first two classes will be held at Britton UMC. Confirmation will meet on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday’s of the month and will rotate between the churches each month. Please contact Pastor Nancy with questions/concerns.

 The Bible Study, Embraced by God, will begin this week. It will begin in Britton on Wednesday, September 12th at 9:30am and in Claremont on Thursday, September 13th at 9:30am. Plan on attending this 8 week study written by Babbie Mason, well known and award winning gospel singer and songwriter.
