The District Superintendent, as well as the rest of the Cabinet of the Annual Conference, the Common Table and other teams within the Conference, is asking each church to set specific, measurable, reasonable and attainable goals for the future so that we might grow in our faith and in our worship attendance. The Annual Conference voted this past June to set the goal of increasing worship attendance by 1% in each church by the end of 2012. The goals we are asked to define will allow us to plan and work toward this goal and will need to be completed before the end of the year. Before we can begin to plan for the future we need to look back and see who we were and what God was doing in our midst in the past and then discern if this is still what God is calling us to do and be. In preparation for making goals for each church, Pastor Nancy would like those with stories from the past to share them with her, either verbally or in writing. The reason for doing this is SO THAT we can see where we’ve been and then evaluate and discern what God is calling us to do and be in the future. Once the stories are compiled they will be shared with each congregation during a worship service. What are your memories of growing up in the church? Of joining the church? Of serving in the church? What stories were you told by other generations about the church?  What ministries were active in the past? How did we do outreach/missions? Pastor’s email is nancyserving@gmail.com and phone number is 294-5303 or 294-7388. I’m looking forward to hearing from all of you.
