Thoughts to Ponder
Just allow people to see Jesus in you—to see how you pray, to see how you lead a pure life, to see how you deal with your family, to see how much peace there is in your family. Then you can look straight into their eyes and say, “This is the way.” You speak from life, you speak from experience.   From “Words to Love By” by Mother Teresa.

Backpacks and school supplies are being requested by those involved in the flooding in Minot, ND and other areas in the Dakotas. The list of items needed is on the entryway table. Please bring your donations to the church by August 14th. Arrangements will then be made to get them to the Conference office in Mitchell or to one of the District Superintendents.

Information on kits and donations for the 29th Annual Ingathering for World Hunger is on the entry table. Types of kits include health, school, layette, bedding, birthing, shoebox Christmas, sewing and fry bread.  Last year brought in a cash equivalent of $297,301.09. In addition they are collecting soup labels and used ink cartridges for SE Pierre UMC. If you have items to donate for the auction please also bring them to the church.  Please prayerfully consider how God is asking you to respond to this need. The Ingathering is on Saturday, September 17th in Mitchell, SD at DWU. If anyone would like to attend the event which includes a quilt auction, silent auction, Farmer’s Market Table and pie sales.

Marshall County Food Pantry is accepting donations of school supplies and backpacks. You are asked to check the lists for the Britton-Hecla School District and the Langford School District for the specific needs. If you have something you wish to donate to them please bring them to the church and designate them for the Food Pantry.

Sunday School will be starting on Sunday, September 11th in Britton and Claremont. Britton’s will be at and Claremont at . Please be in prayer for the teachers and students as they prepare to begin another year of learning/teaching God’s love, grace and mercy.  During the worship service on that Sunday we will pray for the teachers and students. Claremont will be hosting a lunch after the service in celebration of the beginning of a new year of learning.
