Thoughts to Ponder
I’m too blessed to be stressed; too anointed to be disappointed.

Information on kits and donations for the 29th Annual Ingathering for World Hunger is on the entry table. Types of kits include health, school, layette, bedding, birthing, shoebox Christmas, sewing and fry bread.  Last year brought in a cash equivalent of $297,301.09. In addition they are collecting soup labels and used ink cartridges for SE Pierre UMC. If you have items to donate for the auction please also bring them to the church.  Please prayerfully consider how God is asking you to respond to this need. The Ingathering is on Saturday, September 17th in Mitchell, SD at DWU. If anyone would like to attend the event which includes a quilt auction, silent auction, Farmer’s Market Table and pie sales.

Marshall County Food Pantry is accepting donations of school supplies and backpacks. You are asked to check the lists for the Britton-Hecla School District and the Langford School District for the specific needs. If you have something you wish to donate to them please bring them to the church and designate them for the Food Pantry.

Sunday School will be starting on Sunday, September 11th in Hecla  at  at St. John’s Lutheran and Claremont  at .  Britton’s will begin September 18th at . Please be in prayer for the teachers and students as they prepare to begin another year of learning/teaching God’s love, grace and mercy.  During the worship service on that Sunday we will pray for the teachers and students. Claremont will be hosting a lunch after the service in celebration of the beginning of a new year of learning.

Britton UMC will begin the Beth Moore study, “To Live is Christ” on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at . This is a study on the apostle Paul and will go through Nov, 16th. Please let Andrea Kilker know as soon as possible if you would like to participate so workbooks can be ordered. Come and join this time of study and fellowship.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Mission Trip to Spirit Lake Ministry Center possible. Your donations of money, food, and clothing were and are greatly appreciated. You helped to make a difference in the lives of many people in the name of Christ.
