Hecla:
The Bishop of the Dakotas Conference, Rev. Bruce Ough, is calling for all churches in the conference to participate in an offering to be received at the Annual Conference to help with a mission project in the oil fields of ND. The Bishop’s goal is to raise $100,000 to jumpstart this mission opportunity God has placed in our backyard. During the month of May, a special offering will be gathered to support this project. The goal for our church is to raise $400 by the end of May. This $400 is above and beyond the Sunday Offerings. Please prayerfully consider how God is calling you to respond to this call to action in spreading God’s message of love and grace.

On Sunday, May 5th the Senior Nutrition Center will be hosting their annual Soup & Pie Luncheon from 11am-1pm.  A free will donation will be accepted.

The United Methodist Church will be hosting the Hecla Memorial Day Service and luncheon on Monday, May 27th. Donations are being requested to cover the cost of the food the luncheon.  Each family is also asked to bring a pan of bars. In addition volunteers will be needed to set up, serve and tear down. Donations may be given to Judy Lloyd. Sign up sheets will be placed in the kitchen in the near future.

Britton:
A new Bible Study will begin on Wednesday, May 1st at 9:30am. The study is titled “Faithful, Abundant, True”. The presenters are Kay Arthur, Priscilla Shirer and Beth Moore. Please let Pastor Nancy know as soon as possible if you would like to participate so the correct number of books may be purchased.

God’s love has produced many miracles, large and small. One of these is the life-sustaining power of blood. We have the ability to share this miracle of life; to pass it along to others. The opportunity to share your healthy blood will be on Wednesday, May 1st from 11:30m to 6:00pm at the Community Center in Britton. Please call Lori Buntrock at 448-2949 to schedule an appointment.

Claremont
There is a need for 2,000 dresses by June 2013 to go to Sri Lanka for distribution when the Logos Hope ship ports there. If you’d like to sew dresses for upcoming trips-they’re easy to make! The project is sponsored by Operation Mobilization and Dress a Girl Around the World. Lisa Cutler has volunteered to put together kits to make these dresses so they can be sent out. Please contact Lisa (294-5342) if you are willing to help this project.

On Sunday, April 28th a lunch will be served after worship to raise funds to send to Bishop Ough’s challenge to raise $100,000 by the time Annual Conference is over on June 8th to support the growth of new churches and expansion of existing churches in the oil fields of Western ND. The Bishop has asked that each church in the Dakotas Conference participate in this missional venture in our back yard. A free will offering will be received for the lunch and all proceeds will go to support the Bishop’s project. The goal is to raise $400-500 from our church. Please prayerfully consider how God s calling you to respond to this request.
