Opportunities to Grow in Faith
Lenten services will continue each Wednesday through the season of Lent at 7PM. The services will rotate between the churches and will be preceded by a light meal. On March 28stthe service will be at Hecla UMC. All are invited and encouraged to participate each week at the host church.
The worship schedule for Holy Week services is as follows:
Maundy (Holy) Thursday,
April 5th7pm at ClaremontUMC
Good Friday Service,
April 6th7pm at Britton UMC
Pastor would like to have three women and three men volunteers to be part of the Holy Week Services as well as for Easter Sunday (need volunteers from each church). Please contact Pastor as soon as possible. (294-7388)
Hecla UMC will be having Easter worship at 7am on April 8th followed by a breakfast. UMW will be furnishing the meal and an offering will be received to cover the cost. Plan on attending this time of worship and fellowship and celebrate Christ’s resurrection with great Joy.
A signup sheet is in the entryway and/or on the bulletin board to sign up to bring lilies, tulips, daffodils and/or other spring flowers in memory of someone on Easter Sunday. Please list your name and the person(s) that they are in memory or honor of. The list will be included in the worship folder on Easter.
On Saturday, April 28th the youth and adults are invited to participate in packaging food for starving children around the world at “Kids Against Hunger” in Aberdeen. The time has not been set yet, but it will be about 2 hours in length. Set aside this time on your schedule and be part of this mission event. I pray that we will be able to go “in mass” and be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who will receive the food. Look for more details in the April newsletter and upcoming worship folders.
On Sunday, April 29th a joint worship service is being planned. It will be held at Britton UMC and the service will be followed by a potluck meal. Beverages & plates will be provided by the host church. The worship team would also like to invite volunteers to join together from the three churches to present special music during worship. Please let Pastor Nancy or members of the worship team know if you would like to participate (Pam Moeckly, Vicki Renner, Vergie Wallace, Bev Dinger, Stephanie Frohling, Kathy Heinrich, Yvonne Gibbs, Carol Hanse, Geri Rasmussen & Judy Pierson).
