Thoughts to Ponder
True freedom, as true love, rids us of fear. In the economics of the kingdom, faith is sufficient. Faith the size of a mustard seed. The faith that “is confident assurance concerning things we hope for and convictions about things we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)

Oct 3rd is World Communion Sunday. On that day we celebrate Communion with brothers and sisters in Christ around the world. A special offering will be received that day to support scholarships for students in ministry around the world. Please prayerfully consider how God is asking you to respond.

It’s time for the 3rd Annual “Warm Up Marshall County Coat Drive” It will take place on October 1st and 2nd from - at the Marshall County Community Building. Donations of gently used winter coats and winter wear for youth and young adults are being requested. This year’s coat drive is emphasizing items for infants through young adults. Please bring your items to the church by September 29th or they may be dropped off at First Lutheran Church or Price Funeral Chapel by September 30th. If you are available to help in the set-up, distribution or take down, please contact Pam Price at 448-2248 or Pastor Sara Sorensen at 448-5370.

Pepsi is granting millions of dollars each month to fund ideas that will refresh the world through their Pepsi Refresh Project. Society of St. Andrews is a non-profit ecumenical organization that is reaching out to the hungry of our nation. They are in line for a $250,000 grant in September. Part of the process is voting. We are being asked to go online and vote each day in September for this organization.  All you need to do is go to the website: http://www.endhunger.org/ and click on the vote to Feed 9 Million Hungry Americans which links to their listing on the Pepsi Refresh site. It only takes a few minutes to do and it can benefit millions. Please consider participating in this request.
Pastor Nancy will be out of town Friday September 24th through Monday, September 27th. If an emergency arises please call her cell phone: 605-359-2855. Messages will also be checked daily at the church and parsonage.
